1 - Pre-Conference Assembly & Career Clinic - April 3
On April 3 we invite students and stakeholders in global health education to join the discussions:
Pre-conference Assembly - A day of dialog about the means and methods to grow the global health workforce so health workers can better serve in ways that are fair, efficient and responsible.
Career Clinic - Students are invited to attend sessions and an accompanying resource fair created to directly address career planning considerations and to assist in the incorporating of global health into their professional lives. Career Clinic seats are extremely limited. Please indicate your interest to attend when you register.
2 - Welcoming Reception - April 3
300 conference participants will have the opportunity to mingle and meet after the sessions of April 3 at the Seattle Burke Museum. The museum will be closed to the general public that evening and all museum exhibits will be accessible for viewing. Business Casual. Cocktails and light hors' doerves.
3 - Student / Faculty Mixer - supported in part by The Lancet - April 4
At the midway point of conference events, join us at the student mixer for tomorrow's global health leaders and professionals. This is a casual 1.5 hour meet-and-greet where students, faculty and professionals are invited to mingle.
4 - Global Health Topic Tables - April 4.
Up to a dozen different tables will be set up during lunch - each table another opportunity to meet others with similar passions. Topic table gatherings allow participants to meet likeminded individuals and chat about the "global health topic of the table" in a casual manner over a boxed lunch. The atmosphere is casual and participants are encouraged to visit multiple tables during this period.
Space limited to the first 100 registrants ($15 for this session to cover lunch). Interested participants are asked to indicate their intention when registering for the main event.
** April 3, 2009 - Continential Breakfast, Lunch and Breaks provided.
** April 4 & 5, 2009 - Continental Breakfast and Breaks provided. Lunch on your own. Conference attendees are encouraged to enjoy the tastes and vibrant atmosphere around the University of Washington campus where numerous eateries are available.
*** Developing Country rates are available to attendees traveling from countries in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, Southeast Asia and Pacific Islands. Individuals traveling from low-resource countries may also receive up to USD$300 to supplement their travel expenses.
Qualifying persons may pick up their checks upon checking in (and picking up their badges) at the conference site on April 2 - April 4, 2009. To inquire, please contact:
mailto:info@globalhealthedu.org?subject=Conf09: Travel Funds [Subject Line = Conf09: Travel Funds].
*** Accompanying Persons rate provides breaks, lunch and Resource Fair access only - no sessions. This offered only for April 3.
